Recent Shows Skeleton Woman (2002) Sealskin Woman (2003) The inspiration for the 2002 and 2003 shows were taken from traditional Inuit stories. Travels to the Arctic brought the artist into close proximity with the Inuit. Their traditions, stories and myths show their connection to the Earth. The story of the Skeleton Woman was the focus of this show. To read the story of the Skeleton Woman click here. The story of the Sealskin Woman was the focus of this show. Combining a variety of media including, watercolour, acrylic and natural materials the artist represented her interpretations of Skeleton Woman and Sealskin Woman. For both shows others were invited to read and write about their reflections of the story, which became part of the shows. At the show openings participants were invited to drum in a traditional drumming circle. Participants in the show were in community, sharing stories, interpretations and music.
